Your Privacy

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) includes privacy rules that govern when and how health plans, health care providers and anyone else directly involved in the provision or payment of health care can disclose information specific to your health.

As part of its compliance with HIPAA, the Joint Benefit Trust Health and Welfare Plan has developed a JBT Notice of Privacy Practices (254 KB PDF) under which the plan is obligated to maintain the privacy of your protected health information. The plan may amend this notice from time-to-time.

You can also ask to speak to the JBT Privacy Officer for additional information.

Note: If you participate in a JBT-sponsored HMO, you will receive a privacy notice directly from the HMO.
